Why Choose the 40292A Flue Collar?

A damaged or worn flue collar can reduce draft efficiency and allow smoke or gas leaks. The 40292A cast iron collar restores safe venting and reliable performance, ensuring proper combustion and long-term durability. Built to OEM standards, it’s the ideal solution for routine maintenance or replacement.

Installation Instructions:

Allow the stove or furnace to cool completely before servicing. Ensure all embers are extinguished and disconnect the flue pipe from the existing flue collar.

Remove the bolts or screws securing the old flue collar to the stove body. If furnace cement or sealant was used, gently tap around the collar to break the seal and lift it free from the stove outlet.

Clean the stove’s flue opening thoroughly. Remove all old furnace cement, debris, and residue so the new collar can seat flush against the stove surface.

Apply a thin, even bead of furnace cement or approved high-temperature sealant to the mating surface of the stove outlet or the underside of the new cast iron flue collar.

Position the new 40292A flue collar onto the stove outlet, aligning the mounting holes. Press the collar firmly into place to seat it evenly against the stove body.

Secure the collar using the original fasteners or suitable replacements. Tighten evenly, alternating between fasteners to avoid warping or cracking the cast iron.

Reconnect the flue pipe to the collar. Seal the pipe-to-collar joint with furnace cement or high-temperature sealant as required by local code and manufacturer guidelines.

Allow all sealant or cement to cure according to the manufacturer’s instructions before lighting the stove.

Installation tip: After the first fire, visually inspect the flue collar and pipe connection for any signs of smoke leakage and re-tighten fasteners if needed.
